Who doesn’t like healthy bronzed skin minus the sunburn and tan, which directly results from being out for too long in the sun without sun protection? Well, self-tanner is the answer to this hot question. Self-tanners have been around in the market for too long, but the brands that broke the internet were ‘Tanceuticals’ and ‘St Tropez,’ and for a good reason. Predecessors of these brands were blotchy & patchy, had little to no pigment, and did not wear well after application. So it is natural that, just like the rest of the world, we also draw up a comparison between these cult-favorite brands. This is the battle of self-tanners, Tanceuticals VS St Tropez.
Both of these brands have been around for a while now, and each has a cult following of its own and for different reasons because, as we all know that everybody’s skin is extra and what may work for some may not work for others. Nonetheless, this is going to be an enjoyable one. Read along, and you be the judge of this battle.

Everybody looks better with a tan. Range of Tanceuticals products is designed to give a natural-looking tan without the side effects of tanning beds and sunburn. The brand guarantees an easy application with no streaks, no foul smell, and neutral colors which won’t make you look like an Oompa Loompa. What sets the brand apart from all the other brands and their self-tanners is that its formulation carries a variety of skin-loving ingredients apart from tanning ingredients.
Tanceuticals seem to be big on adding emollients and antioxidants like argan oil, acai berry extracts, and shea butter. These hold a variety of benefits like repairing skin’s barriers, moisturization & nourishment, smoothening & tightening of the skin, etc. it is the brand’s goal to make your skin appear younger, tighter, and more radiant.
It’s not how it makes you look; it’s how you “feel .”St. Tropez as a brand talks about being the original brand that came up with the genius idea of gradual tanning and takes pride in being the pioneer in the industry. The brand set a bar by making self-tanning a part of the skincare regimen rather than a dedicated task. The brand falls on the luxury end of the cosmetics spectrum, meaning it is a high-end brand, but you do get a bang for your buck with St Tropez.
The very idea behind the brand is the gradual tan that builds while you are on vacation, and when you get back, you have developed a fantastic sun-kissed tan; you do get all of that minus the sun damage. St Tropez will cater to your needs if you are all about the effortless and sunless glow. The brand takes pride in its minimalistic approach and also how, across the globe, they have helped people achieve a different level of confidence from inside and out with their glowing goddess-like skin.
Tanceuticals CC Self Tanning Body Lotion
This is the cult-favorite product by Tanceuticals, and it goes out of stock instantaneously; undoubtedly, it happens to be the brand’s best seller. It is a self-tanning lotion, and it gives a fantastic bronzed tan look. The brand offers different shades for people with more profound and lighter skins. The lotion is very smooth and light on the skin; it dries quickly and almost settles in the skin on its own without having to rub it in a lot. The initial tint is not too strong and doesn’t stain clothes.
Also, the product glides easily and is very spreadable; you won’t need a lot of lotion to cover your entire body, and one tube will last a while. For a product whose consistency is so light, it did not leave the skin drier than usual; it was moisturizing. And of course, like all other products from the brand, this body lotion also has skin-loving ingredients. The tan the lotion provides lasts for about seven days which is longer than most self-tanners.
And lastly, this product smells delicious; it smells like a tropical coconut drink. One thing that might annoy people, which the brand also suggests, is the use of gloves for application because your hands would stain by the time you are done applying.
Just something to keep in mind, or if you like your palms orange, who are we to say anything?

Tanceuticals Customer Reviews
KATIA J says
She loves it and will never use any other self-tanner and has hooked her sisters on it.
She has very light skin, and most self-tanners are too dark on her skin, but this one works perfectly for her skin tone.
She has no complaints about this product and will continue to buy this for as long as possible.
She doesn’t understand the appeal of this one and feels it is just like any other tanner, but quantity is a significant add-on.
She most definitely buys this product for its smell and how the scent lasts longer than any other tanner she has used in the past.
What are you guys waiting for? Please get it now; this product will work for you no matter who you are.

St. Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil
As the name suggests, it is a luxurious self-tanner formulated as a dry oil with gorgeous specs of glitter and shimmer, making the skin glow for the gods. This product makes the skin radiate early, and it photographs so well; that is precisely why it is used during outdoor photoshoots. As we have already mentioned above, St. Tropez is a luxury brand, which is reflected in this product’s price. But this product is unique and gives a nice healthy glow to the skin, and it is in the form of a dry oil, which means no sticky residue but all the moisture of the oil.
The product has a runny consistency, almost like water, shimmers settle in the bottom, so it is best to give it a good shake before applying. The product is like an absolute delight; it glides on the skin and moisturizes it, leaving it supple and smooth. As the name suggests, the dry oil dried pretty quickly and did not leave the skin looking slick and oily.
This one has a citrusy smell, probably because of the essential oils in the mixture, but the scent is not foul and won’t give you a headache even though it lingers ever after showering. The tan developed without any blotchiness, and my skin felt smooth and moisturized even on day 3. Although the tan faded after five days but without any streakiness, we enjoyed using this one.

It is expensive for what it is, which is a tanner. One doesn’t need to spend a lot on a tanner.

This is a decent self-tanner that she likes in her vanity. But not something she will run out to purchase once it is finished.

Tanceuticals VS St Tropez comparison draws a fair comparison between the two brands, mentioning the pros and cons, the claims, and customer reviews. This way, you get the gist of what these brands offer, specifically the products we reviewed, i.e., their best sellers.
It all boils down to personal preference, even the preference to use a self-tanner in the first place.
Some people prefer their pale, porcelain skin, and some prefer a more tanned and bronzed glow. Similarly, some people stick to a budget and don’t consider splurging, while others don’t mind doing that because it is self-care. Both brands have won people’s hearts all over them, and for a good reason; now you get to decide which brand to go for.
