More Ultrasound Shots Isn't Always Better: Technique Varies by Face Shape

At PIND Dermatology Clinic, every ultrasound treatment begins with a consultation and assessment, and shots are allocated according to the fat layer thickness of each face. Areas with a thin fat layer on the cheeks are skipped, and shots are concentrated along the jawline and contour line instead of copying the shot counts used on someone else.

The number of shots in ultrasound treatment is not copied from someone else's numbers. At PIND Dermatology Clinic, we first conduct a consultation and assessment before ultrasound treatment, mark the treatment plan on the face, and then decide how the shots will be allocated.

Why can't you simply copy the shot counts used on someone else?

Every face is different, and the same shot count on faces with different structures produces different results. Some people have a thin fat layer on the cheeks; if that area is treated as usual, the energy causes fat atrophy, and one or two months later the face looks hollow.

Where are the shots allocated?

The mid-cheek area is marked as skipped in the plan, and shots are concentrated along the jawline and contour line.

  • Mid-cheek: skipped
  • Jawline: shots concentrated here
  • Contour line: shots concentrated here

Why does the consultation take up so much time?

Seeing clearly how a face should be treated matters more than how many shots are given. Our clinic places more importance on the consultation than on the treatment itself, and the consultation takes longer than the treatment.

Whether ultrasound treatment is done well is not decided by the machine, but by whether the face was understood before treatment.
